We have been made aware by Bo’ness Athletic that they fielded an ineligible player in our King Cup Quarter Final on Tuesday night, a match Bo’ness Athletic won 5-4. As a result of this Leith Athletic will now advance to the Semi-Final of the King Cup.
We would like to put on record our sincere thanks to everyone at Bo’ness Athletic, firstly for approaching us immediately when they realised the error and their dealing of the matter. Secondly, for how they have treated everyone at Leith Athletic not just on this issue but also the hospitality they showed our committee, management and players at the game on Tuesday night.
We have been on the other end of similar honest errors this season so we know the difficulties of the situation but the way Bo’ness Athletic have dealt with this unfortunate circumstance has been excellent.
We would like to wish Bo’ness Athletic all the best for the rest of the season. We will look forward to our meetings next season should you go on and get promoted this season.
